Summer Fun!

This summer has been great.  We have had lots of fun, also lots of arguing but we try to forget about that and put it behind us.  We have gone bowling a lot since they have the kids bowl free.  The kids will be pro bowlers by the end of summer.  Carleigh got a strike and 2 spares at our last visit to the bowling alley.  I think we have gone to the pool almost everyday and the kids are still loving it so we will continue to go.  We went to one of the Grasshoppers Baseball games on night.  They won and they had fireworks at the end.  The kids really enjoyed it and it was Carleigh's first time seeing fireworks.  She thought it was great and wanted them to keep going.  We have gone to movies and we are going tomorrow to see Ice Age 4 so that should be fun.  Brian and I have been doing a lot of selecting for things for our house.  I think as soon as I leave I change my mind then I go back and forth but at the end I have loved everything we have picked out this far.  We still have a few more selections to make and then it is just a waiting game until it is done.  Carleigh got her first bike the other day.  She is doing great on it.  She loves it and has been riding it everyday since she got it.  What a great summer so far.  It is hard to believe it is almost over.

July 4th 2012

We started the morning out with going out to breakfast then heading over to the parade downtown.  We got there right after it had started and the kids were excited about the parade and getting the candy they throw out to the crowd.  Well we found out this year they were not allowed to throw the candy only have someone walk and hand it out.  So therefore not to much candy this year.  The kids were a little disappointed but thats ok they did not need tons of candy anyway.  After the parade we headed over to the pool to spend some time in the water.  We got there and we were the only ones there for like the first hour and then a few more trickled in but still a small crowd on a nice summer day.  After the pool we went over to my parents house and grilled out and the kids lit some sparklers and ran around outside until it was time to go and see the fireworks.  The fireworks were not very impressive this year. We did not have a very good spot to see them that well but also they were just lame.  The fireworks at the baseball games here are much better.  We got home late and went right to bed, the kids had a long fun day!

Beach Trip To Ocean Isle

What a fun week, we had a great time with the Miller Family at the beach.  Nana, Granddad, Libby, Sean and kids, Jeni, Brian and kids and our crew all met up at Ocean Isle beach for a week.  It was a lot of fun.  We had 12 kids and 8 adults.  The kids got along great!  We had fun at the beach, rented some boats and a wave runner.  We went to see Brave, walked on the pier,  kids did some crafts and just had a lot of fun.  The weather was great not to hot and no rain.  Lizzy and Taylor were the beach bums.  I think they could have lived on the beach the whole week.  Lizzy was a fish in the water.  They had lots of fun in the waves and building sand castle.  Bri built a sand city.  While he was out building by himself his teacher from this past year just happen to be vacationing there as well and was walking on the beach and ran into Bri.  We had a great house,  it had plenty of rooms and it was right on the beach.  It was so nice to be on the beach.  It was great the kids could come and go as they pleased and there was always someone in the house and on the beach so lots of supervision.  The only problem was the week went by way to fast.  Can't wait till next years beach trip!
