Lizzy's Birthday

Well I can't believe it Lizzy turned 5 yesterday. She is growing up so fast. She is now in pre-school 5 days a week from 9-1 and is loving it. Yesterday she got up very early to open some presents, went to school, went and got her ears pierced and followed all that with dinner, cake and more presents. She loaded up this year. I think her favorite gift was her remote control strawberry shortcake car. She has been asking for it for a long time and in fact when she made her wish blowing out the candles that is what her wish was for.
In this picture of Carleigh she has on a Ariel necklace lizzy got and when you press the button it has Ariel singing. So Carleigh would put it on and just open her mouth so it was like she was the one singing. It was very funny to watch. We started potty training Carleigh this week. She is 20 months so a little older than her siblings were. She is doing good, I think it is because she gets candy if she goes on the potty and she loves candy better than anyone.

Well back to Lizzy she had a great little family party. She wanted tacos but we had to go to Taco Bell with the play place to eat and then we came home for cake and presents. She had a princess cake and the majority of her presents had something with princess on them. She truly is our little princess. In fact yesterday every time she wanted something she would say it is my Birthday and that means I get want ever I want. She then ask since I am 5 does that mean I can have candy for breakfast everyday. No lizzy you can't, well I can today because it is my Birthday! She also believes that when Carleigh goes potty she should get candy as well if she is in there cheering for Carleigh. Her response was I was in there helping her so I need it to.
Lizzy is such a sweet loving little girl and we are so lucky to have her in our family. We love you Lizzy and are glad you had a great Birthday.

Hiking Heart Creek Trail

This was the first day in Canada - the trip was precarious - Robin will give more details later. But this first day was full of fun - this was the Heart Creek trail which is the first mountain valley that you reach when you enter the Rockies from the Calgary. The trail was 4 miles or so round trip. The kids did great - no complaining and had lots of treats most importantly. There were people climbing rock walls, and streams to hop over. Lots of bridges. Lizzy is the queen of posing as always.

Well as usually it has taken me months to update my blog. Since last post we had a trip to Utah. We had a great time. We were able to go out and be there for my sister and her family to be sealed in the temple and also her daughters blessing. What a wonderful time that was. The kids had a blast and loved going to Temple Square.

The girls had there first dance recital and did great. It was so much fun to go and watch them. Lizzy loved putting on the makeup and costumes. Caty-lynne could not wait to take it all off. They both did a great job.
The kids just finished up another year of school. I can't believe I have a 4th grader and 2nd grader. How did I get so old so fast! We are leaving in a week to go Canada for 10 days. We are all very excited about that.
Carleigh is getting so big, she is 17 months old. She keeps telling us she needs to go potty and sometimes we make it in time but most of the time she tells us right when she has started. Don't really want to start potty training until after we get back so not doing much about it now. She is talking so well, she can say pretty much anything. Her favorite words are Stop and No.
Bri just started Tae Kwan Do and is loving it. He goes 3 times and week and learning lots. Lizzy and Caty are going to take swim lessons when we get back so they can improve in their swimming skills. Other than that we having nothing else going on for them this summer. We are going to take the kids to the beach in August for a week, so that should be fun.
A few of the pictures are taken from our hike on Memorial Day. We went up to Hanging Rock but this time we hiked the waterfall trails. It was a blast. The kids had fun playing in the waterfalls. As we started to head back a huge rain storm came out of nowhere and we all got soaking wet. The boys and Lizzy thought it was great. Caty-lynne on the other hand was not happy about it. Luckily I had a sweatshirt of mine in the car for her to put on or I'm not sure we would have been able to take all the whining we would of heard from her about being wet! I guess she is that much like her mother, not that I complained about it out loud but in my head you better believe it. Hopefully I will update sooner than I have in the past.

WOW IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME!!

Well a lot has happened since my last post. School is going great and we are loving our new house and being here in Summerfield. Since the last post We went to Disney World and had a blast. We meet Libby and her family, Jeni and Natalie, and Nana there. The kids had so much fun. I threw in one picture from Disney World. Shortly after our trip to Disney we went to Canada for Christmas. What a great Christmas. We had snow and cousins to meet for the first time and play with. Going to Nana and Grandad's is always fun so that was no surprise. Since we have been back from Christmas we have had 3 birthdays. Brian, Carleigh and Caty-lynne.

Carleigh turned 1 and I can't believe how fast she is growing up. She is all over the place. She started walking around 8 1/2 months and now she is just running everywhere. She is such a sweetie and brings so much happiness into our home. We feel so lucky to have her.

Caty-lynne turned 7 on Wed. and she was supposed to have a party at skate land on Sat. but we had a snow storm come on Friday night so we rescheduled for next Sat. She has also grown up so fast. What a wonderful girl she is, she is a great sister and a caring little girl. She wanted to go to Taco Bell for her birthday dinner so that is where we went. I will be glad when these kids start liking a little more high scale restaurants. They all had fun because the Taco Bell had a play place, so it was great for the kids.
As I mentioned we got snow this weekend and will probably not have school for days. In fact Church was canceled for today so it has been a long day. I sure hope it warms up and melts soon. They kids have had fun in the snow today. They have been out in it for hours. To bad we do not have a sled, and everywhere that sells them have sold out. Oh well I guess I will be better prepared for next year. I'm sure we won't get any if I actually have a sled and snow gear. Well enjoy the photos and I am going to try real hard to blog more regularly.

The Summer Has Come To An End!

Well the kids started school this past Tuesday and we were all looking forward to that day.  I think I was looking forward to it the most.  Lizzy's school starts on Monday and she is very excited about that.
Carleigh is all over the place.  She started crawling almost 2 months ago and her new favorite thing to do is climb the stairs or pull herself up on things.  She will be 8 months in about 1 week and she is just starting to wear her 3-6 months clothes which are still a little to big on her.
Well last week before school started Libby and her family came to visit for the week.  We had a good time visiting with them.  The kids all enjoyed playing together.
Here are a few pictures of the kids from the last few weeks and of Bri and Caty-lynne on the first day of school.  I had to force Bri to take a picture.  He is so much like his dad. Not just in the picture taking department, he will come down stairs dressed for the day with navy shorts with a navy shirt and I will say bri you need to put on a different shirt.  His response is just like his dad's was the first time we went out.  What it the same color it matches.  It must be in the genes.

HAPPY 4TH

Hope everyone had a great july 4th.  Brian had to work but my parents, the kids and I went out to Breakfast for biscuits, caught the last of the parade, hung out downtown at the festivals, got charicatures made and went to a pig pickin.  All in all it was a good day.  Not sure if we will make it to the fireworks  but I am not to upset about that.
